ACCESSIBILITY
Built to be usable, and honest about what is untested.
This site aims at WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a target it was built towards, not a certification it holds.
What has been built in
- Semantic landmarks and a single, correct heading order on every page.
- A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element.
- Keyboard operation throughout, including the menus, the scoping questions and the writing filters.
- A visible focus indicator that is the same everywhere, and never removed.
- Colour contrast checked against AA for text and interface elements.
- Status, selection and errors conveyed in text as well as colour, never by colour alone.
- Form fields with real labels, described errors, and focus moved to the first problem on submit.
- Progress through the scoping questions announced, with focus moved to each new question.
- Motion that is short and purposeful, switched off entirely when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide.
What has not been done
This site has not had an independent accessibility audit, and it has not been tested with every screen reader and browser combination. Automated checks and manual keyboard testing catch a lot and they do not catch everything. Saying otherwise would be the kind of claim this site exists to avoid.
Known gaps
- Diagrams carry a text alternative that summarises them; the detail they contain is also written out in the surrounding copy, but a long description is not separately provided.
- No audio or video content is published yet, so no captioning or transcript policy has been exercised.
If something does not work

Review status
The standard this site aims at is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. No formal review has taken place yet, so there is no review date or evaluation method to publish. Both will be added here when a review has actually happened.
